Reaction to Dr. Strange Multiverse Of Madness Teaser

This review has spoilers for the “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” teaser, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” and minimal mentions of the Marvel series “What If…?”

The long wait for the release of the Doctor Strange Teaser has finally arrived. The teaser, trailer, and poster for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” have been released. The teaser was released during the second end scene of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which was released on Dec. 17, 2021. The movie is expected to be in theaters starting May 7th, 2022.

In the teaser, Doctor Strange doesn’t take Wong’s warning into account, “don’t cast that spell. It’s too dangerous.” Strange quickly realizes that they tampered with the stability of spacetime. Strange warns “the multiverse is a concept of which we know frighteningly little,” Strange then sees his face in an old broken watch. Mordo’s voice threatens, “your desecration of reality will not go unpunished,” as Strange steps out into what appears to be the Mirror Dimension, but buildings are cracking and descending.
Strange pleads, “but I never meant for any of this to happen,” as viewers see glimpses of an abandoned Sanctum Sanctorum, mayhem in the scattered streets, Christine Palmer’s wedding to someone other than Strange, Wanda Maximoff’s glowing hands, and a battered Wong.

Strange visits Wanda at her new home on a quiet farm. Wanda declares, “I made mistakes and people were hurt,” not realizing Strange is not there to discuss the events in Westview, as seen in Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision.” He needs her help regarding the multiverse. Mordo reminds Strange, “the greatest threat to our universe is you,” just as Strange comes face to face, well, with his face, who smugly states, “things just got out of hand.”
The official teaser received 32 million views. Through all the buzz and chatter about the teaser, one thing that stood out to the viewers was that Wanda is going to be in “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” A different aspect that stood out is the variant of Dr. Strange that was seen at the end of the teaser. This character was already seen in the “What If…?” Episode 4: “What if Doctor Strange lost his heart instead of his hands.” This has led a lot of the viewers to believe that some of the other variants and characters from the “What If…?” episodes may show up in the upcoming movie. Others think that former actor of Pietro, Aaron Taylor-Jonson may show up as Kraven the Hunter. Have we not put Wanda through enough? Others think Loki may make his return.

The viewers seem to think that when Doctor Strange made everyone forget Peter Parker and Spider-Man, he likely caused this whole problem but others think that Doctor Strange casts another spell. This would make Wong’s warning make sense but the warning could also be for the spell Peter asked for.
Overall this has opened the eyes of the fans as to what may happen in the movie. The fans are very happy with the teaser. With many ups and downs, ecstatic about Wanda being in the upcoming movie and worried about the variant that may destroy the universe we know and love.
