Art Exhibits to see in LA This Winter

Masks must be worn in all art exhibits, and proof of vaccination or a negative test result must be shown

Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room (Please be aware that this exhibition does contain flashing LED lights and is a dark and enclosed space)

Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room is not a new art exhibition. However, after closing back in March 2020 due to COVID, It’s long-awaited reopening has finally come. According to Michael Juliano, the date for this exhibition to reopen was on Jan. 5, 2022. However, this was postponed until further notice. Some interesting information about this art exhibit is that once it has reopened there will be limited time for each individual to be within the exhibit. Each individual has 60 seconds to take as many selfies as they can before exiting the exhibit. The Broad does release same-day tickets for those who couldn’t get the tickets on the day they wanted, with each ticket having specific time slots. For more information, please visit The Broad.

Frieze Los Angeles

This exhibit comes from New York to L.A. in its third annual art fair coming in February. According to Michael Juliana, this art exhibit displays dozens of works, including 38 here from L.A. It’s planned for this exhibition to start Feb. 17 through Feb. 20. For more information visit TimeOut.

Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898-1971

This exhibit not only portrays art, but also video and film. This art exhibit portrays almost an entire century of often-overlooked cinema. This exhibition provides a deep look into the toll of Black Americans in American filming. The museum plans to open this exhibit sometime in 2022. Barbara Kruger: Thinking of You. I Mean Me. I Mean You.

This exhibition portrays one of the largest presentations of Barbara Kruger’s 20 years of work. The exhibit Barbara Kruger: Thinking of You. I Mean Me.
